Wegwerpcatan - Can Catan get much smaller?

06 June 2024

Released by 999 Games in 2007 this Dutch version of Catan is quite possibly the smallest version of Catan ever released. It was released as a promotional game that uses very simple rules and does not use any cards. Play is to 7 points and the set comes with a paper spinner to replace the dice.

The Robbers of Catan

04 April 2024

In 2008, Klaus Teuber wrote a background story to the Catan Robbers, the three harmless fellows who go around plundering resources every time a "7" is rolled.

Elasund - All 8 Languages collected.... but still missing a box!!

27 July 2024

Elasund: The First City is not the most well-known Catan variant, and this is a shame as it certainly deserves greater recognition.

The Great River - an oldie, but still a goodie

24 March 2024

The Great River of Catan is one of those unusual smaller Catan expansions that has been released in different formats and with different rule variations. There are single river hexes, double hexes, triple hexes and even quadruple hex versions. There are rule sets in the original release, Atlantis, T&B and also an alternate fan-made set too.
